Senior Financial Analyst
The successful candidate will work closely with the Marketing and Research + Development teams to provide financial analytics that measures the impact of activity and investment in the functions.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide insights, analytics, and presentations to shed light on financial performance and help drive business decisions
Provide monthly financial reports
Work closely with functional partners on forecasts and budgets to accurately predict investments and request funding to drive business outcomes
Analyze monthly operating results to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
Provide well-analyzed and defined recommendations on process improvements
Manage process improvement projects from inception to final process documentation and implementation
Support new product launch initiatives with financial forecasts for revenue and marketing programs.
Analyze product pipeline health to identify areas of opportunity to grow or divest products based on performance
Partner with pricing team to identify profit opportunities through margin analysis
Tracks investment in R&D projects to provide insight into value of overall development portfolio
Ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic and business plans
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
High attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to meet deadlines
Strong financial analysis and modeling background
A thorough understanding of business and planning processes required
Planning systems experience including general ledger, Excel, and business intelligence systems
Previous experience supporting a Marketing and/or Product Development team within an organization
Prior experience supporting multiple departments and business units within an organization
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong ability to analyze and problem solve
Assertive and confident while able to understand/empathize and support other perspectives. Intent on building trusting and collaborative partnerships/relationships
Strong understanding of P+L Analytics with the ability to turn financial analytics into insight
Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to plan, organize, prioritize work, and handle multiple projects and deadline
Able to work as part of a finance team focused on building a “great place to work” culture and continuously upholding the purpose and values of Marvin
Education / Experience
5+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting and analysis
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, math, or related field
Experience working with product development, product marketing, or R+D within a manufacturing organization preferred
Superior use of Excel including macros, pivot tables, and v-lookups as well as business intelligence tools such as Qlik, Tableau, or Spotfire
