M Health Fairview is hiring Surgical Technologists! These positions may be eligible for a sign on bonus up to $7500 and our Loan Forgiveness Program. There are full and part time positions open across the organization. We have openings at the following sites: Fairview Ridges Hospital - Burnsville Fairview Southdale Hospital - Edina St. John's Hospital - Maplewood Woodwinds Hospital - Woodbury University of MN Medical Center (East & West Bank) - Minneapolis Responsibilities: The Surgical Technologist performs the functions of a scrub person during surgical procedures providing patient care services appropriate to the age of the patients served during the shift of duty in collaboration with the RN. Is responsible for adhering to standards of nursing practice and patient care, correct use of supplies/equipment and maintenance of the surgical suite under the direction of a RN. Serves as scrub person during operative procedures: Anticipates surgeon’s needs Supplies appropriate instruments, suture and specialty items. Maintains aseptic technique during all sterile procedures. Assures proper identification and handling of specimens. Completes all required sponge, sharps and instrument counts. Follows appropriate action in emergency situations. Provides patient care: Adheres to standards of clinical practice and patient care appropriate to the age of the patients. Assists in transfer/positioning of patients. Collaborates with the MD and circulating nurse to provide care for each patient. Required Qualifications Military, LPN surgical assistant or surgical technologist training completion, by hire date BLS for healthcare providers certification or ability to obtain by hire date Preferred Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program AST certification or certification eligible at time of hire 1 to 3 years surgical tech experience
