Responsibilities

The Account Specialist is responsible for the prompt and accurate processing of all functions related to accounts payable and/or receivables.  

 

Essential job responsibilities include:

 

  1. Meets with new admissions and/or responsible parties to establish relationships, gather financial information and obtain signatures on appropriate forms in accordance with Ecumen standards. Will maintain availability as a resource for residents and families. Maintains and updates information received on resident billing accounts.

  2. Responsible for billing, insurance reimbursements and collections, including ancillary programs. Ensures aged receivables are within Ecumen standards. Deposits are made and posted in a timely manner.  Completes cash recaps for each deposit and reconciles general ledger revenue accounts monthly.

  3. Prepares accounts payable invoices for weekly payments and balances weekly batches of invoices for transmission and payment based on appropriate due dates in accordance with Ecumen procedures.

  4. Prepares financial and statistical reports for the State of Minnesota, Ecumen and other departments.

  5. Manages and reconciles ledgers, reports, resident trust funds, petty cash and other accounts.

 

Qualifications

Account Specialist

Minimum Required Qualifications:

 

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum of one year of related experience

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively

Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident’s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Associates Degree or higher

Healthcare financial experience

Senior Care Experience

Proficient using a computer and with the Microsoft Suite
