Summary: As the Director of Total Rewards, you will leverage your strategic and hands-on total rewards experience and knowledge to help us build and elevate our compensation and benefits programs. Additionally, you will bring vision and value to our organization and employees supporting the attraction and retention of top-tier talent on a global basis aligned with our Talent Philosophy and in line with our 2030 Aspirations (https://griffithfoods.b-cdn.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Griffith-Foods-2020-Sustainability-Report-September-2021.pdf). The incumbent will need to be a key driver of on-going communication and education for all employees regarding their total rewards. You will be responsible for ensuring that our reward programs enable our Employee Value Proposition and provide thorough evaluations and analyses of reward programs on an ongoing and annual basis so that our programs are competitive, innovative and drive employee performance to support Griffith’s Purpose Driven Strategy (PDS). This position reports to the SVP of Global Human Resources.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Executive Compensation

  • Partner closely with SVP of Global Human Resources, CEO, Chairman, CFO and the Board of Directors' Compensation Committee on strategic plans for Executive Compensation inclusive of a broad compensation philosophy.
  • Ensure legal compliance and market competitiveness while proactively identifying trends for global programs.
  • Manage all aspects of equity design and administration, including compliance, partner with relevant stakeholders in Finance and Legal.
  • Design and administer short-term incentive programs working closely with the executive management team (i.e., AIP, LTIP and Sales Incentive).
  • Lead our Wellbeing and Fulfillment (W&F) initiatives in support of our 2030 aspirations with emphasis in pay equity, living wage and living income strategy enterprise wide.
  • Overall accountable for developing Global HR governance structure.

Broad-base Compensation

  • Partnering with our Regional HRLT’s and executive team to advise and influence leaders in compensation strategy, programs and issues while balancing business acumen, reward expertise and relationship skills.
  • Oversees the planning, development, and administration of base salary and total cash compensation programs as well as job evaluation, pay for performance programs, and annual cycles.
  • Establish and implement global job leveling(re-leveling) systems to create a common basis to compare jobs objectively serving as the foundation to drive effective performance management and skill/bench building.
  • Evaluate Sales Incentive programs to ensure they enable our Purpose Driven Strategy (PDS) consistent with the plan design (i.e., criteria of Where to Play (WTP) and How To Win (HTW)). In partnership with Finance, establish compensation budgets and guidelines.

  • Establish standard policies for administration and communication of all benefit programs.
  • Oversee Retirement Committee (401(k)) meetings and appropriate documentation of decisions and plan changes adopted.
  • Develop an enterprise strategy with experience harmonizing/rationalizing/Re-leveling international benefits programs as needed.
  • “Re-leveling” of international comp/benefit/band levels will play a big part in the LRP process and ongoing as an enabler for other investments needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years global hands-on total rewards experience.
  • Proven experience of working closely with Senior Leadership teams on all matters related to Executive Compensation, including overall competitive compensation positioning, equity management.
  • Ability to manage, mentor and coach a team.
  • Ability to travel 15-20%.

  • A proven Total Rewards leader who has led a compensation and benefits team at a multibillion-dollar public/private company with a global footprint.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and ability to communicate persuasively with business partners to resolve highly complex problems and recommend or produce best solutions for our teams.
  • Works independently to drive and manage projects, while collaborating with various teams and leadership.
  • Strong planning, project management, organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in HR systems (i.e., Workday, Dayforce, Success Factors) and Microsoft tools.
  • Knowledge of mobility programs; international and expatriate compensation and benefits issues desired.
