We currently have a new career opportunity for a full-time Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Analyst (DR/BC) based out of our Enterprise Avenue location in Appleton!

The Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Analyst (DR/BC) will assist in developing, maintaining, and testing Fox Communities Credit Union’s disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response programs under the guidance of IT Risk Manager.

The primary responsibilities of the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Analyst (DR/BC) role include but are not limited to:

  • Design and maintain an organizational framework to support disaster recovery/business continuity programs
  • Work with IT Risk Manager to assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of disaster recovery/business continuity plans to ensure they are current, effective, and aligned with business needs
  • Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and risk assessments to prioritize business functions and processes and to identify risks that can adversely impact the Credit Union’s resources or reputation
  • Analyze BIA findings to determine gaps between business requirements and the Credit Union’s ability to deliver those requirements
  • Collaborate with IT Risk Manager and teams to develop strategies to reduce deficiencies as identified during the BIA
  • Collaborate with the IT Risk Manager to establish an DR/BCP exercise training program
  • Establish a testing schedule to validate recovery plan strategies and/or identify gaps within the plan
  • Facilitate DR/BC walk-through scenarios, tabletop exercises, alternative workspace exercises, and other drills
  • Track exercise results and recommend improvement plans
  • Ensure DR/BCP plan is updated and reviewed at least annually or whenever major changes in system functionalities occur, by business teams, Technology Steering Committee and Board
  • Collaborate with Training Department to develop a training and awareness program to increase Credit Union understanding and practical implementation of DR/BC practices. Assist in maintaining a program to introduce key concepts, such as program management, risk awareness, identification of critical functions/processes, recovery strategies, and exercising/testing
  • Drive and deliver BC commitment, support, ownership, accountability, and results
  • Provide training, subject matter expertise, and technical capabilities in the use of the online recovery planning tool
  • Maintain incident response program
    • Collaborate with leadership and teams to define levels of business interruptions leading to crisis situations
    • Assist in defining organizational roles, lines of authority and succession of authority
    • Assist in developing procedures to implement the Credit Union’s incident response plan
    • Provide on-call support by responding to live incidents
    • Monitor events with Incident Management Teams and the Crisis Management Team to mitigate the effect of the business interruption
    • Ensure incident response is coordinated with outside organizations in a timely and effective manner when appropriate
  • Prepare status updates on program maturity for leadership
    • Prepare updates on program maturity for management, Technology Steering Committee, Board, and Audit & Risk Committee
    • During exams and audits, prepare requested documentation
  • Liaison with external agencies to build ongoing partnerships with organizations focused on disaster recovery and business continuity to promote mutual support
    • Expand relationships with State and County Emergency Management and private/public organizations
    • Serve as a liaison for organizations such as Emergency Operations Centers
    • Participate in tabletop exercises with government and outside organizations

Candidates for the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Analyst (DR/BC) position should possess:

  • Two-year college degree in technology related field is required
  • Certificates or classes in DR/BC strategy, theory, implementation, and maintenance are preferred
  • Two or more years working in the DR/BC field
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills to balance workload and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite products
