As a high performing Correctional Officer, you will set an example each day through positive and pro-social role modeling, utilizing dynamic security concepts by building a rapport, observing, and supervising residents inside our correctional facilities. All you need to qualify to start working as a Correctional Officer is a high school diploma or GED. One of two starting pay rates is selected based on your experience and education. No experience? No problem! The ND DOCR will train you and you will get paid while training!

The mission of the ND Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCR) is transforming lives, influencing change, strengthening community. Our employees provide many different services to a diverse correctional population of juveniles and adults, such as therapeutic rehabilitation, medical care, physical plant services, education, information technology, and a variety of correctional security and law enforcement jobs responsible for security and management of individuals in the custody of the DOCR.
